The “Arbitration and International Construction” group aims to identify the issues raised by arbitration law—and, more broadly, by alternative dispute resolution methods—in the context of international construction law; to define the general direction of this specific area of arbitration law; and to catalog both its practical and theoretical challenges. The unique nature of arbitration in construction law is well established—whether in terms of its inherent factual complexity, its procedures (such as the role of dispute review boards), or the applicable rules (FIDIC, etc.). The working group aims to identify the specific contributions of arbitration to the field of international construction (in the broadest sense) and, conversely, the contributions of construction arbitration to arbitration practice. To this end, the working group—chaired by Thierry TOMASI, Partner at Betto Seraglini, and supported at the General Secretariat by Louis PERREAU-SAUSSINE, Professor at the University of Nancy—is composed of eminent specialists in this field:
