Jean-André Diaz, after serving as Special Advisor to the Legal Department of TOTAL Exploration and Production, currently works as a consultant in energy law, law of the sea, and arbitration.
As General Counsel, he was responsible for negotiating and enforcing contracts in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry in many parts of the world.
He has been, and continues to be, involved in international arbitrations conducted under various legal systems and rules. A former chair of the Oil and Gas Law Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Corporate Counsel International Arbitration Group (CCIAG), he is Vice-Chair of the IBA’s Section on Energy, Environment, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure Law (SEERIL).
