Philippe Pinsolle is a partner at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan LLP and heads the international arbitration practice for Continental Europe. He is based in Geneva. He previously served as managing partner of the Paris office, which he founded in January 2013.
Philippe Pinsolle has more than twenty-five years of experience as an advisor, expert, and arbitrator in international arbitration, with a particular focus on international commercial arbitration, investment arbitration, disputes between sovereign states and investors in sectors such as energy, electricity, oil, gas, renewable energy, major infrastructure construction projects, and other capital-intensive sectors. He has participated in more than 300 arbitrations as counsel or an arbitrator under the auspices of virtually all major arbitration institutions. Philippe is dual-qualified as a French Avocat à la Cour and an English Barrister. He is universally recognized as one of the international arbitration lawyers with the deepest understanding of issues relating to the award’s amount.
Philippe is currently president of the French Arbitration Committee (CFA) and a former senior co-chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee. He is a member of the Court of Arbitration of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). He also serves as an advisor to the International Advisory Committee of the Thailand Arbitration Centre (THAC).
